This documentary’s primary goal is to expose the urgent crisis of modern-day slavery and child abuse, affecting an estimated 20 million people trapped in brick kilns across North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. These families, forced into cycles of abuse and servitude at the lowest strata of the caste system, endure unimaginable hardship. Their lives sharply contrast with the demands of international consumer markets and the opulent architectural marvels their labor helps create—a cruel paradox of beauty built on suffering that lies at the heart of our story.
More than a film, this project is a call to action. By offering sustainable solutions to break these chains of bondage, we aim to mobilize global awareness and inspire real change. The campaign will launch with a pre-release night in New York City, ideally hosted at the United Nations, followed by screenings at select national and international film festivals. Ultimately, the documentary seeks to inspire viewers to support ALL PEOPLE FREE, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing this critical issue.
In a hands-on, immersive production approach, our crew will go the extra mile to capture powerful, firsthand moments that bring the viewer directly into these environments. This includes a deep dive into the brick manufacturing process, tracing the journey from the hands of modern-day slaves to its use in constructing some of the world’s most iconic buildings. By documenting the process from the brutal conditions of the kilns to the grandeur of architectural masterpieces, we aim to deliver a raw, unfiltered perspective that vividly reveals both the human cost and the exploitative process behind this craftsmanship. Through this lens, we invite viewers to witness each step alongside us, connecting them personally to the plight and resilience of those affected and empowering them to be part of the change.
